Sumita Kaura

APAE Programming

My name is Sumita, I have been a resident of Hinton for 7 years. I graduated from the University of Alberta with BSc. Kinesiology in 2007 and started working with the disability/injury population during my practicum. I immediately knew this is where my passion lies and after graduation I was hired full time! From there, I was recommended for a Masters program abroad to Europe to learn even more about the field. I was so fortunate to be considered and accepted! I completed a MSc. Adapted Physical Activity in 2010 and since then I have been involved with the field in different ways. I have worked along side children and adults with various disabilities, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries (including concussions), overuse injuries/strains, cancer, arthritis, pulmonary disease; the list goes on. Now, I am so excited to bring this service and over 12 years of experience and knowledge to Hinton and Bodywise!
